OUR FIRST TIME AT DISNEY WAS 2009!
65DISNEY, AUGUST 2009
LESSONS LEARNED.
Last year, August 2009, my sister and I started our first annual family trip together to Disney. She and her twenty children and grandchildren. Actually it was five children and three grandchildren it just seems like twenty when they are all together. I had my one and only son.
We left on a beautiful, hot sunny, Saturday afternoon. I checked us in online the night before so all we had to do was check our bags at the curb. We were flying with Jet Blue ... there were some minor problems, but I truly did enjoy the flight. What I loved the most was all of the things my sister and I brought with us to keep the children calm was not needed, because Jet Blue had inflight movies behind each seat. My son and nephew sat with me and watched SpongeBob SquarePants. I watched The Proposal. I was in heaven.
We arrived at a time shared villa of a friend of my sisters around 9:00 PM. We were in awe at the size. It was so Spacious, and beautiful. I stayed in the down stairs bedroom -- which had a bathroom -- with my son and nephew. My sister and the rest the our group were upstairs where there was three bedroom, and two bathrooms. My sister's bedroom had a bathroom and balcony.
My sister's three minor daughters stayed in the middle bedroom, and her -- then -- twenty-three year old daughter stayed in another bedroom with her three little children all under four years old.
My favorite day was at Disney Park. My son had the greatest time.
My one problem with the Villa was there was no WiFi. I was not able to book our trip coming back, and it really took us so long on that line and about an hour at security check, and with eight children we missed our flight, which was after 11:30 AM. We ended up leaving after 3:00 PM.
Still, I really do love Jet Blue even though they really closed the doors too early.
There were several learning lessons, but the one I took away from our whole experience was to make sure I always get to the airport early.
Please scroll down, and leave a comment.
Thank you.

This was great to read!!! The last and only time I went to Disney is now 35 years ago and after reading this and seeing the photos of your lovely family, I so wanna go back there.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Wow, must be great memories.. I flew to Florida from NJ two years ago, we were going onto a cruise ship that was leaving out of Tampa. I was so scared when we took off, a single tear dropped from my eye and I didn't say one word until we landed. I think my family never saw me so scared. Hard to keep my big mouth shut!!! that did it..
but it was a great trip all in all and I'm glad you shared your trip with us.
Thanks for sharing the lessons learned.
I love it! Nice sharing!
Never went to Disney when I was a kid. What a place!
But then 4 hours stuck in an airport with the kids. That could be a real contrast. LOL

Thanks for sharing your experience at Disney. It brought back memories of when I first went to Disney. I went on my honeymoon there and have been going practically every year since that time. I just went on the Disney Cruise ship last year with my family. You got to try it. It is like Disney at sea. Thumbs up and beautiful.

N.E.Wright. Hi. Wow what an exciting time you had at Disney with your Son and Family.
It does sound like a wonderful place to go, for all ages, especially the Children.
Would love to visit with my Grandchildren, but it is a very long way from Australia, so will just have to be happy with reading about other folks adventures.
I enjoyed reading about your Family Holiday very much. Thank you for sharing it with us. Thumbs up. :) :)
...well I remember my first time at Disney World in Orlando. My parents were so good to me - I am crying right now. I am 52 years old and yet I still think of it as it were yesterday! I am still that little boy!
What a nice story don't you think? My parents are both gone now but the memories remain and I am who I am because of them - my two best friends!
Thank you for sharing this exciting trip to Disney World! I hope you guys get to go again and again. My kids are grown, and that is one of my few things I "failed" to do, was get them to Disneyworld. Maybe my great-grands someday!!! Love your Hub.
Hello N.E. Wright,
We're very sorry to hear about your son's passing, but we're sure he is safe in God's hands now. My son, being the "one-and-only" likes seeing his cousins once in a while, but he, sure, does cherish his time with us and of course, his "alone" time. He is very much into animation-he has an excellent gift in drawing and wants to be an animator someday. Have lots of fun in your much-awaited cruise in a couple of years! Thank you very much for your reply. I am looking forward to reading more of your hubs!:-)
Wow-glad you had a great time! We love going to Disney ourselves!:-) We are actually planning on visiting Disney again during fall break (1st wk in Oct.)-can't wait to go to Disneyland again, especially after seeing how much fun you guys had!:-) Thank you for sharing your family trip. We can actually relate to it.
We have a 13-yr-old son and he has 12 younger cousins and 11 older cousins. So, you can imagine the "chaos" when they all get together!:-) Anyhow, I've enjoyed reading your hub and thank you for sharing your wonderful experience. Welcome to HubPages. Keep writing. God bless!:-)
There is nothing better than spending time at Disney with family. Enjoyed the trip, thanks for sharing.
I love Disney! Sounds like you had a great time!
Looks like fun! Peace!! Tom

Hi LadyFae,
Wow, I would have loved to have experienced Disney as a child. LOL.
Still, experiencing it as an adult, with my son, is the greatest feeling in the world. I will never forget his various happy expressions.
Oh, and those expressions when he did not know why he had to be around me too long instead of on rides. LOL.
I really do appreciate your lovely words about my family photos.
Thanks for your very kind comments.
Take Care,
N.E.
